(WCG), a Community Development Corporation (CDC) was founded in 1988 in response to concern about absentee ownership of land and property, the high cost of housing, the displacement of families from their homes into shelters, and the fading dream of home ownership and economic opportunity for those living in the most underserved neighborhood of Central Worcester, Massachusetts. Our member-based organization is composed of land trust residents, concerned citizens, housing advocates, and community leaders. We are an open membership, not-for-profit organization run by an elected board of land trust members.

    We specialize in fiber optics video systems for television broadcast production. Our founders are pioneers in the fiber optic industry, having created many of the industry's "firsts" since 1974, including the first commercial single mode fiber and cable. They supplied systems for the first fiber optic network broadcast in 1980, and they have worked to perfect the equipment for fiber TV production for the last twenty years. Telecast was formed in 1991 to develop products specifically for TV broadcast production, without compromise. Our systems are now used worldwide by the most prominent networks and stations, and they are used in the highest profile events.
